I had always wanted to have my own store and said that I would call it “Pattyraks”, because my Papa Kay had called me “Pattyraks” all of my life. In September 2004 my dream came true and “Pattyraks” was established in Corsicana TX. My husband worked so hard to put all the right touches into our store. He was so proud and told everyone he could see people coming from all over to come to Pattyraks. 2 months later the Lord called my husband home in November 2004. After my darling husband passed away, I decided to move back to the Metroplex to be closer to family. So I relocated to Grapevine, Texas and helped my sister run her store, called Nana’s Gift Shop until Oct 2006, when she sold her store to Miscellaneous. I decided to reopen “Pattyraks” in a boutique called The Corner store here in Grapevine, TX and an online store promoting…Mud Pie clothing and baby items, Nana and Mimi apparel, Chantilly bears and much more. The whole concept of the store was from having grandbabies; February 1997, I became a Nana - my first grandchild was Kyla and then in Nov 2000 Katelyn was born and Aug 2004 we added a grandson Colten. I would go to market and say “one of the kids has to have this”. So I would order it for the store. If I was lucky I might have one left for the store if the kids didn’t see it first. As time has passed and Pattyraks in The Corner Store has grown, the need for the Nana and Mimi T-shirts along with the new embroidery aprons has flourished to where we no longer will be carrying Mud Pie baby items. We also will be in Canton, Texas in Pavilion 4252 the 1st. Monday weekend of each month, Thursday – Sunday. Along with having our embroidery items, Chantilly Lane Bears and other specialty gifts, we will be sampling and selling our line of Neighbors Gourmet Coffee. If you can not make it to either one of our locations, we have made it easy for you to shop from our online store. We will be adding more items as the season calls for them.
